We are looking for a professional to fill the position of Theater Arts Teacher in Upper School for February 2023.

The Newton College teacher’s main responsibility is to promote the social, emotional, academic and all-round development of all pupils to their fullest potential, in a positive, harmonious and disciplined learning environment. All members of staff are expected to be professional in all matters pertaining to their activities in the school, and to work towards achieving the school’s stated educational aims and objectives. This post plays a key role in the development of the Theatre Arts curricula in Upper School. The post-holder is ultimately responsible for designing and delivering high-quality learning experiences in the subject.

Requirements (previous training, experience and knowledge):
  • Qualified teacher, ideally with training in IB programs (MYP and/or DP).
  • Subject specialism in Theatre Arts (acting and/or directing), with qualifications from schools of performing arts and experience in professional theatre.
  • Familiarity with best practices in classroom practice and Theatre Arts education as well as constructivist, conceptually-driven approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Familiarity with at least one (and ideally more) of the IB programs and at least two years of prior teaching experience.

We are looking for a professional to fill the position of IB MYP Individuals and Societies Teacher in Upper School, for February 2023.

The teacher will be part of the Individuals and Societies Faculty (Economics, Business Management, History, Psychology and Environmental Systems) in Upper School, teaching students aged 11-18. The successful candidate will be involved in the planning, development and teaching of a concept-driven, integrated MYP Humanities course. There will also be the opportunity to teach IB Diploma in a specialist subject for the right candidate.
