Peruano Británico Model United Nations (CPBMUN) was an unforgettable experience for the Newton College Delegation. A few months back, we had already set the goal of attaining one of the highest awards at a MUN conference. And for that very reason, we strongly prepared ourselves and worked on the respective strengths and weaknesses of each one of our members.
During each of the preparation sessions, we would engage in debating, constructive dynamic activities, sharing strategies, reinforcing knowledge and procedure. Delegates were given tools to use during conferences, but most importantly of all, we focused on self-improvement.
It came as a surprise, when, in the last MUN of the year, CPBMUN, on November 24th and 25th, we obtained the “Best Large Delegation”. An award which we had worked so hard for. This did not only demonstrate the deep commitment of the club advisors towards helping us realize our goals, but also the individual passion of each of our club members.
Our club members had to develop their abilities and expose themselves to foreign and unknown situations, and despite this, they overcame all obstacles. For this reason, we’re more than proud to congratulate each and every member of the Newton College delegation for managing to bring the school to new heights.
It has been 2 years since we were last bestowed this decoration. And despite the changes and adversities during this time, all club members remained committed and proud for one same reason, their love for diplomacy, justice, and most importantly, teamwork.
