FACILITIES

The centre has two dormitories. Each dormitory can accommodate up to 15 students. Both buildings have two wash stands, three showers, two toilets and an extra bedroom with private bathroom for teachers. The central building is divided into a dining area and a lecture/laboratory area. There is also a bar. Water is always available. Soft drinks are not included. Some other small bungalows accommodate the staff, resident biologists and visitors.

Basic services include three meals a day and boiled/purified water. A bilingual guide will introduce you to the trails and the rules of the centre and the forest. All transport between Puerto Maldonado airport and Sachavacayoc centre is included. We can arrange your flights to and from Puerto Maldonado. Hotel costs in case of flight cancellations are not included.

PRICES

The prices for our basic programme, not including educational or material assistance:

Three nights: $160 per person and $40 per additional night. Minimal group size is ten students. For each ten students the stay of one adult will be free of charge.

Prices for the flights to and from Puerto Maldonado may change considerably within short periods of time. At this moment, December, a round trip from Lima is about $140, including airport tax.

Prices for educational assistance and materials, especially for fieldwork by trained biologists, depend entirely on the programme you wish. We can help you to make an hour-to-hour programme and organise all the equipment and assitance necessary for that. For suggestions see the other information pages.

PAYMENT

Four weeks in advance we would like to receive a deposit of 25% of the total sum. The rest of the payment has to be made two weeks before arrival at the centre. Cancellations more than two weeks in advance will result in a refund minus 10% of the total sum; and minus 25% if cancelled 3 to 14 days in advance. No refund will be given if the reservation is cancelled less than 72 hours in advance.

Co-ordination about the dates and the programme should take place as early as possible. Whilst taking every possible precaution, Sachavacayoc Centre cannot accept any responsability for whatever injury, loss or extra costs for whatever reason. If considered necessary, we reserve the right to change any part of the programme.
