Peruvian Women’s Football Team
Stephanie Buck (fifth from the left, back row) from Form V has been chosen to represent Peru in the Under-17 Women’s Football team. After playing two friendly games against Chile in Tacna and Arica, and after intensive training sessions, the team will participate in the South American Championship to be played in Chile in January. We wish Stephanie and Peru the best of luck!

Campeonatos de Básquet
El equipo de básquet Sub-17 varones, que participó en la Copa San Jorge obtuvo invicto el primer lugar.

Y las chicas no se quedan atrás: en la categoría Menores, el Newton quedó primero en el Campeonato de Básquet ADCA, mientras que en la categoría Pre Mini obtuvimos el primer lugar en la Copa Reina de los Angeles.

South American Rugby Championship
From the 4th to 11th November, Newton College was host to the South American Rugby Championship organised by the Peruvian Sports Institute. On this occasion, the teams from group B in South America participated: Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and Peru.

In the first game, Peru narrowly lost to the favourites, Brazil, 24-15. In the second game Peru recovered to beat Colombia 13-9. In the final game Peru beat Venezuela 26-13 and finished 2nd in the championship, behind Brazil.

In the Peruvian National team there were four Old Newtonians: Maser Madueño (Prom II), Gustavo Alarco (Prom VIII), Jorge Ugaz and Daniel Cino (Prom XII). The school was congratulated on the organisation of this event and on the enthusiastic atmosphere it created to motivate the Peruvian team.
