The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation, renowned for its high quality academic standards and regarded as the global leader in international education. Through its philosophy and curriculum the IB "aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect."
Founded in 1968, the IB currently works with over 3,600 schools in 146 countries to develop and offer its programmes to over 1,132,000 students. In 1986 Newton College became the first school in Peru to offer the Diploma Programme and it was instrumental in persuading Peruvian universities to recognize the academic rigour of the programme and to allow IB Diploma graduates direct entry into their universities.
Newton College has also offered the IB Primary Years Programme since 2001. This programme focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. It encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning and to become independent learners.

Newton College delivers the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and suite of exams for English as a foreign language (PET, FCE, CAE, CPE). Our school is an authorised exam centre for Cambridge University exams.
Latin American Heads Conference (LAHC)
The LAHC is an association of international schools in Latin America represented by their head teachers and driven by its ethos "Sharing expertise for school improvement". The membership is committed to sharing best practice and providing exciting opportunities for professional development at all levels through a mutually supportive network.
It facilitates communications and exchange of information at all levels. It organizes teacher and student conferences. It promotes education for sustainable development and student and teacher exchanges. Its flagship service is the School Review which provides members with an external evaluation of their curriculum and a variety of aspects and processes, ranging from Health and Safety to Planning and Finance.
Newton College was reviewed by LAHC in 2008 and will be reviewed again in 2014. The 2008 review provided us with a list of commendations and recommendations which informed our strategic planning.
Asociación de Colegios Privados de Asociaciones Culturales
ADCA is an association of seventeen, private, non-profit, bilingual schools in Lima and Callao. Its mission is to strengthen ties among its members with the aim of improving quality education that is based on values.
The association promotes the organization of music, art, literature and dance festivals, in order for students to have further opportunities develop their artistic and literary talents. Throughout the academic year the member schools participate in different sports competitions in disciplines such as athletics, gymnastics, swimming, basketball, soccer and volleyball.
The heads of the schools meet to discuss issues of national interest in education and are often asked by the Ministry of Education for their views on new initiatives. ADCA is considered as one of the three most powerful associations of private schools in Peru.
The British Schools of Peru comprise seven schools in Lima and one in Trujillo which were all founded by British patrons and which practise traditional British educational systems and values. They provide a local network for the heads of school, share professional development for the staffs and a variety of cultural and social activities for both teachers and students.
Student activities include Debating, Science Challenge, Chess, 6th Grade Fun Day, One-Act Play Festival, Spelling Bee, Theatre Sport, Short Story Writing, and a Form V Challenge.
The BSP coordinate their annual academic calendar, ensuring that the major holidays in each school are at the same time. They also coordinate special school events such as Peace Week and Environmental Day activities.
